About B&R Lobster Traps & Lobster Buoys
Our History
B&R Lobster Traps & Lobster Buoys was founded in 1984, selling lobster traps and buoys to the tourists, which were stacked in the yard ready to fish. So many visitors were adamant on purchasing them that it was a no-brainer to start a new business. Over the years, we have grown into a worldwide company selling our products to amusement parks, restaurants, factory outlet chains, food stores, and numerous Corporate 500 companies. We are the manufacturers of the beautiful lobster trap Christmas Trees that are seen all over. Bonnie has carried on the reins of the business the last 20 years alone, until this year a new partner has been brought on board, thus the name change from B&B to B&R. All our items will continue to be hand produced in our shop in Maine and we will continue to have our beautiful display set up on Route 1.
How to Purchase Our Products
During the Covid pandemic, we set up our outdoor display as a contactless shopping area. We switched to a self-serve honor system accepting cash & checks into our white cash box set up out front. We also offer Venmo as a form of payment by scanning the QR we have at the checkout counter. We also have a guest Wifi (bnb guest) so all cell phones can connect and pay. We also accept all major credit cards, but when saws and tools are operating, we do not hear a phone or ring camera chime, so connecting with a live person may not be successful.
